Davis Chassis Works Contender Series – Super Late Models – Round 7 – July 4, 2018 – Langley Speedway

Last week the Contender Series ran 150 laps at the tight Langley Speedway under the lights for the 7th race of their season.

Race 1 Summary – In Race 1, Daniel Williamson started out front and looked to have the early race speed to maintain his lead. However it was the long run speed of Ryan Doucette that paid off as he narrowed the gap out front to a couple car lengths by lap 50, took the lead on lap 78, and then went on to cruise into victory lane for his 3rd win of the season. Williamson, Gareth Gonder, Brian Helm, and Conner Blaise rounded out the top five.

Race 2 Summary – In Race 2, Keith Medeiros paced the field early on, while Evan Sorensen was quickly making his way forward. Sorensen hounded the leader for over 50 laps before getting the run he needed to get under Medeiros on lap 85 to take over. During a final 40-lap run to the finish, Sorensen was able to pull away to also score his 3rd win of the season. Brandon Wilkinson, Jarrid Boiros, Medeiros, and Michael Goddard rounded out the top five.

Hard Chargers – Jason Benoit & Hayden Pastorius (Race 1, +5 pos. each), Michael Goddard (Race 2, +8 pos.).

Pole Winner – Daniel Williamson (15.283 seconds)

Points Battle – Another win for Evan Sorensen extended his points lead by a few more, and now sits 17 points ahead of Gareth Gonder.
