Davis Chassis Works Contender Series – Super Late Models – Round 3 – October 3, 2018 – Southern National Motorsports Park

Last week, the Contender Series took on SNMP, with 45 drivers being split up into two separate 150-lap races.

Race 1 Summary – Justin LaDuke took the overall pole and started up front in Race 1. He used that fully to his advantage as he would lead all 150 laps on the night. He had to hold off Ryan Doucette and Brandon Wilkinson early, while late in the race Doucette was applying pressure once again. But LaDuke was too strong and dominated the night for his 2nd Contender win of the season.

Race 2 Summary – In Race 2, Brad Mahar led the field early on but when he was challenged by Gareth Gonder around lap 60, the two would get tangled up and both drivers would go to the back of the pack. This handed the lead over to Keith Medeiros over the final 80 laps. Mahar was able to recover to put the pressure on over the final 20 laps, but Medeiros would hold him off and went to victory lane for his 3rd career SARA victory.

Hard Chargers – Keith Medeiros, Kyle Souza, Devon Morgan, Scott Dunlap (Race 1, +7 pos.), Matt Eddy (Race 2, +10 pos.)

Pole Winner – Justin LaDuke (13.218 seconds)

Points Battle – With the win, Keith Medeiros leads the standings by just 5 points over Brandon Wilkinson heading into tonight’s races.

Up Next – The Contender Series will head to Langley later tonight for 150 laps.
