Midgets Championship Recap

Heading into the final race of the season, JD Laird’s consistency put him atop the standings and helped him build up an 11 point gap over David Krikorian. The two drivers had battled all season long, but four straight podium finishes gave Laird the advantage heading into Lanier.

In the season finale, both drivers found themselves fighting inside the top five, and against each other once again during the late stages of the race. Although Krikorian finished ahead in the results, Laird’s consistency paid off once again with another top five finish. His 5th place run was enough for Laird to secure the title by 9 points.

Laird’s championship season consisted of 11 starts, 11 top fives, 11 top tens, and 15 laps led. Congrats to JD Laird, the 2020 Spring/Summer Dirt Night Midget champion!
