Curtis Wins, Morgan Adds Dirt Night Title

Race1.us Dirt Night presented by JB Trucking – Dirt Pro Late Models – Round 11 – March April 29, 2019 – Limaland Motorsports Park

For the final race of the season, the series rolled into Limaland for the second time, this time for 100 laps to crown a new series champion.

Race Summary – Matt Rolfe was inverted to the front of the field and led the opening 11 laps before allowing Dante Curtis to use the high side to take over on lap 12. Devon Morgan, the points leader, eventually followed Curtis up into the second spot, and the two would duel it our for the rest of the night. Morgan threw a couple of sliders, but Curtis would make the crossover to hang on, but a timely slide as the caution came out on lap 58 had Morgan out in front. From there, Morgan looked to be on his way to victory, but a mistake with just 10 laps to go resulted in Curtis getting back out in front. One final restart setup a 1 lap dash to the finish, and Curtis was able to capitalize and held off Morgan and the field to pick up his 2nd career SARA victory.

Race Winner – Dante Curtis – Started 2nd, 57 laps led, 2nd career SARA win

Top Five – 2nd Devon Morgan, 3rd Jarrid Boiros, 4th Beau Brannon, 5th Derek Robinson

Russell Brown Race Cars Driver of the Race – Dante Curtis was the highest finishing driver with the RBRC logos on his rear spoiler in 1st place.

Points Battle – Devon Morgan entered the night atop the standings with a comfortable lead, and needed to finish just 19th or better to secure the title. He did that and much more as he contended for the win before finishing 2nd, ending off the season with a strong run. Devon Morgan was crowned the 2019 Spring Season Race1.us Dirt Night pres. by JB Trucking champion, with 11 starts, 3 wins, and 8 top fives to add his 2nd career SARA championship!
