The RB Performance Super Late Model Series took their turn at Langley Speedway for 150 laps around the flat bullring. Heath Smith would put up a strong qualifying time to pick up the pole, and wasted no time showing how fast he was.

As the race got going, Smith would have the field under control as he would quickly jump out to the lead. The race would see a few cautions early, but no one could touch the leader on the restarts, as it appeared the rest of the field would battle for 2nd place on the night.

Points leader Tyler Breeding, and 2nd place Matt Rolfe would take their turns battling for 2nd spot on restarts, before Rolfe would get shuffled way back, leaving Breeding, Cam Manis, and race 1 winner Jim Caudell Jr to battle it out. The three of them would run nose to tail throughout the second half of the race, and thats the order they would finish.

But no one would have anything for Smith, as he worked up a big lead over the final run, and even blew the motor coming out of turn 4 on the final lap, as he came around to receive the checkers. Smith’s win is his second in 4 races. Behind him, Breeding, Manis, Caudell, and Rolfe would finish out the top 5.

With Breeding’s second place finish, he would extend his point lead over Rolfe to 20 points.

Next week the series heads to New Smyrna. Full results and standings for tonight’s race can be found HERE.
