Callaway Investments Sportsman Series – Tour Modifieds – Triple Crown Race 3 – July 31, 2018 – Myrtle Beach Speedway

Last week the EastWest Modifieds hit the track for the final race of their Triple Crown series, taking on Myrtle Beach for 125 laps.

Race Summary – Ty Spearman led a majority of the race, holding control at the front of the field but it wasn’t easy by any means. Conner Blaise moved up to second and rode behind the leader, but then began putting on the heat during the final 50 laps. As the laps wound down, Spearman made a couple mistakes, allowing Blaise to get to his inside, but Blaise found himself sliding around as well. The two ran side-by-side for a number of laps before Spearman made one last mistake when he got into the outside wall down the backstretch, allowing Blaise to take away the top spot. Blaise would hold off the field in the closing laps to pick up his 2nd triple crown victory.

Race Winner – Conner Blaise – Qualified 1st, 15 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Joe Schaffer Jr., 3rd Ty Spearman, 4th Ryan Doucette, 5th Donald Clark
