Raffurty Caps Off Title Season With Victory At Lanier

This past Wednesday night, the Dirt Late Model Series wrapped up their 2017 Fall Season with a 125-lap feature event at Lanier to crown their new champion

Race Winner – Much like he’s done all season, Dillon Raffurty got to the lead quickly and never looked back to pick up his 10th win of the season.

Race Summary – James Ray led the field to the green flag after the Pole Handicap and the battle up front started heating up early, with Davey Scovel getting the advantage to lead lap 1. But it didn’t take long for Dillon Raffurty to work his way forward and he would work his way around the outside to take over the top spot on lap 13, and never looked back. Clay Snider would sneak by Chris Watkins on a 1-lap restart at the finish to take 2nd, but they both chased Raffurty to the finish line.

Pole Winner – Dillon Raffurty set the fast time in qualifying with a lap of 13.732 seconds.

Hard Charger – Chris Watkins just missed the Pole Handicap and started in 9th, and finished the night in the 3rd spot.

Title Fight – Dillon Raffurty’s 10th consecutive win, after missing the first race of the season, was plenty enough to capture the 2017 Fall Season Dirt Late Model Series championship. Raffurty’s season consisted of 10 wins, and 568 laps led.
