Race1.us Dirt Night presented by JB Trucking – Street Stocks – Round 5 – Oct. 15, 2018 – Lanier National Speedway

Last week, Dirt Night visited Lanier for 75 laps, with 31 drivers attempting to qualify for the 24-car field.

Race Summary – James Mihlbachler jumped out to the early lead and held the top spot until lap 38 when he and Nicholas Johnston made contact, allowing Christian Pedersen to sneak by. From there, Pedersen wasn’t able to pull away at all, allowing Johnston to battle it out with him during the final laps. After some slide jobs and crossovers, Pedersen and Johnston found themselves in a drag race to the finish, and Johnston was able to nose ahead by just .001 seconds for the win, which is the closest finish in SARA history.

Race Winner – Nicholas Johnston – Started 3rd (invert), 1 lap led

Top Five – 2nd Christian Pedersen, 3rd Jordan Erickson, 4th James Mihlbachler, 5th Brandon Wilkinson.

Hard Charger – Clint Woolbright (+13 Positions, 21st to 8th)

Heat Winners – Russell Berry, Rocky Battenfield, Jarrid Boiros, Christian Pedersen

Points Battle – Although Pedersen came up just short at the finish, he’s able to pull ahead in the points battle by 32 points over Ryan Doucette.

Up Next – Next week Dirt Night returns at the Knoxville Raceway for 60 laps.
