The MRD Pro Late Model Series took to the track, shortly after the Super Late Models finished off their 150 race. The PLM series would run 125 laps in the night’s double header and the field would see plenty of green flag action.

James Moss would pick up his first career pole, but it would be Matt Rolfe that would power by on the outside at the drop of the green and he would lead lap 1. Rolfe would take off for an early lead, while Moss tried to hold off the rest of the field in the early laps. Moss would spin to the infield on lap 9, but the race would stay green.

Anthony Celentano would grab second place by lap 12, but at that time, Rolfe had already jumped out to a 3.5 second lead. The field would settle in from there and Rolfe would continue to grow his lead. Behind those two, Jarrett Lawrence and Clay Snider would battle it out for the 3rd spot, while Mike Testa contested Snider for the spot later in the run.

Rolfe would begin lapping the field, and was getting ready to lap 3rd and 4th place, but that lap would see Celentano self-spin for the race’s first caution on lap 115.

This would bring the field together for a 5 lap run to the checkers. As Rolfe took off on the restart, Snider would follow closely from the inside. As the two of them made their way into turn 1, Rolfe would try to protect his spot, but Snider would drive in just a little bit deeper. The two would make contact, sending Rolfe into a spin in front of the field, ending his dominant run in the race until that point. Rolfe would drop back to 5th, but Snider would continue on and pace the field around for the victory.

Snider’s win was hist first Pro Late Model win since March 14th of 2013. Celentano would finish 2nd, with Testa, Scott Dunlap, and Rolfe finishing out the top 5.
