Dirt Night – Midgets – Race 4 – July 9, 2018 – Limaland Motorsports Park

Last night, the Midgets returned to Dirt Night and took on Limaland for the second time this season for a 50-lap A-Main.

Race Summary – Derek Robinson took over out front and led a majority of the race, but in the closing laps he would have his hands full. Jarrid Boiros chased him down and made his move to the inside. For the final 8 laps of the race, the two drivers ran side-by-side, Boiros on the inside, and Robinson riding the cushion. Boiros looked to be gaining the advantage until Robinson found a little more on the outside and would win the drag race to the finish line to pick up the win by just .118 seconds.

Race Winner – Derek Robinson – Started 6th, 36 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Jarrid Boiros, 3rd Russell Berry, 4th Barry Phill, 5th Clay Snider

Hard Charger – N/A

Heat Winner – Derek Robinson

Points Battle – For much of the season it’s been a battle between Clay Snider and David Krikorian in the overall points standings, but with the help of drop races, Jarrid Boiros jumps to the top of the standings and holds the advantage heading into the final four weeks of the season.

Up Next – This week the series is off, but returns next Monday night with the UMP Modifieds at Volusia.
