Bills Makes Late Move For Bullring Win

With just two weeks left in the Spring Season, the Dunleavy’s Modified Series visited the Bullring at LVMS on Monday night for a 125 lap feature.

Race Winner – Tim Bills stayed patient after riding on Trevor Edwards’ rear bumper for a number of laps before making his move with just under 10 laps to go, and took over the spot and held off Edwards and Keith Jeffery to pick up his first win of the season in the Modified Series, and his 18th career SARA victory.

Pole Award – Joe Schaffer Jr. with a new track record of 13.877 seconds

Hard Charger – 9th to 3rd (+6) – Trevor Edwards qualified near the back of the top ten and charged forward to lead 69 laps before falling back to 3rd with less than 10 laps to go.

Biggest Loser – 7th to 12th (-5) – The Bullring proved to be a tough track for Michael Baxter, who was involved in an early spin, and his night ended early with a 12th place finish.

Rookie of the Race – 2nd Place – Keith Jeffery ran towards the front of the field all night long, leading 21 laps, and being in the fight for the win late in the race and ended up in the runner-up spot.

Title Fight – Bill Martin clinched the Modified Series title fight after the race at Stafford, and despite missing the Bullring event he still leads the standings by 37 points. The title fight to watch now turns towards the Rookie of the Season battle, as Keith Jeffery and Cayden Lapcevich will enter the final race of the season at Lanier tied in the standings.
