Allen Stays Ahead Of Trouble For First Win

Image

Last Thursday night The Button Box Shop Super Series took on the Lucas Oil Raceway for the second race of the season with a 117-lap feature event. A league record 51 cars attempted to qualify for the race, and it was Derek Holzhausen that picked up the Dean’s Satellite & Security Pole Award with a new track record and a lap of 20.601 seconds

A 10-car invert dropped Holzhausen back into the pack while bringing Darrell Hamlin to the front. Hamlin led the first 8 laps of the race before Jeremy Allen made his way into the top spot. Cautions would be Allen’s best friend throughout the race as yellow flags would consistently fly during the event, which never allowed anyone to post a charge.

Allen would lead 109 laps on the night en route to picking up the win, his first career SARA victory.

Dean’s Satellite & Security Pole Award – Derek Holzhausen – 20.601 seconds
Hard Charger – 29th to 2nd (+27) – Richie Davidowitz
Rookie of the Race – 1st Place – Jeremy Allen
