Last Thursday night, The Button Box Shop Super Series visited Lakeland, Florida and the USA International Speedway for a 125-lap race in the Car Show Show USA 125. A total of 45 drivers would attempt to qualify for the second race of the season, with 30 cars starting the feature event.

Race Winner – For the second straight race, newcomer Christian Challiner showed the field his strength as he climbed to the lead before halfway after being inverted back to 7th for the start of the race. Trevor Edwards led the opening 56 laps before Challiner worked his way by, and then Challiner held off Joe Schaffer Jr. and Adam Benefiel late in the race to pick up his 2nd SARA victory.

Pole Award – Challiner picked up his first SARA pole with a lap of 19.767 seconds.

Hard Chargers – Both Seth DeMerchant, and Jason Miller started their nights outside the top 20, before climbing a total of 14 positions each on the night to finish 7th and 9th, respectively.

Biggest Losers – Matt Kocher, Ty Spearman, and Bill Martin would each get caught up in incidents throughout the night, dropping them each 16 spots at the end of the night from where they started.

Rookie of the Race – Challiner made it two in a row and was the top rookie of the race, ahead of Benefiel and Christian Pedersen in the top three who are also rookies.

Title Fight – After Week 1, we weren’t sure if Challiner could continue his speed, but after a second week on top of the standings, he could be the guy to beat all season long, and currently leads Tim Bills in the standings by 17 points.
