Caudill Adds Second Win In Myrtle Beach Victory

Sim Marketing Solutions Super Series – Super Late Models – Race 8 – July 12, 2018 – Myrtle Beach Speedway

Before the latest off-week, the Super Series took on the Myrtle Beach Speedway for 150 laps under the lights.

Race Summary – Early on in the race, Dante Curtis paced the field but as the race neared the halfway mark, the top three drivers in the points also made their way to the top of the leaderboard. Joe Schaffer Jr. was able to grab the lead first but then had his hands full trying to hold off Jim Caudill Jr. and Jimmy Mullis. After a heated battle, Caudill eventually took the lead with Mullis following him through, and the two would battle over the final 50 laps of the race, but Caudill was able to hold on to pick up his 2nd win of the season.

Race Winner – Jim Caudill Jr. – Qualified 6th, started 4th (invert), 72 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Jimmy Mullis, 3rd Joe Schaffer Jr., 4th Camaron Hamilton, 5th Trevor Edwards

Hard Charger – Trevor Edwards (+10 positions gained)

Pole Winner – Ryan Matthews (18.637 seconds)

Points Battle – After drop races, Joe Scaffer Jr.’s points lead dropped to 21 points leaving Myrtle Beach.

HidesPride Head2Head Throwdown – Row 9 on the grid was selected at random for drivers to compete head-to-head, with Kyle Souza (19th) finishing ahead of AJ Rogers (22nd) to win the Throwdown.
