Last Thursday night, the TUNDRA Super Sim Series presented by LOKOTOCO Designs were up in New England at the Stafford Motor Speedway for their penultimate race of the season with the Oldskoolz Motorsports 150.
Race Winner – Ty Majeski got to the front of the field by lap 50 and never looked back, picking up his 9th win in 9 starts across multiple divisions at Stafford in SARA competition.
Race Summary – Ty Spearman led the field to the green flag after the invert, and controlled the race early with Colin Allman trailing not too far behind. As the top two pulled away, Ty Majeski was working his way up from 7th to 3rd early on. Allman held off Majeski for as long as he could from the outside groove, but eventually Majeski took the spot and chased down his teammate in Spearman up front who would let him go on lap 50. For the remainder of the race, Majeski maintained his gap out front by about 1.5 seconds for most of the night, and pulled away after the final restart to pick up his 3rd win of the season.
Pole Award – Ty Majeski added his 79th career SARA pole to go along with his 89th career win, both league records.
Hard Charger – Zack Novak was the hard charger on the night, climbing from 16th to run in the top five for most of the night before finishing 6th.
Rookie of the Race – Novak was also the highest finishing rookie in 6th and has clinched the Rookie of the Season honors.
Title Fight – Jimmy Mullis ended up finishing 5th on the night to maintain his points lead, but Joe Schaffer Jr. would gain on him by finishing 2nd, and the points gap sits at just 18 points heading into the final race.
