On Thursday night, the RB Performance Super Late Models returned to action when they took on the Stafford Motor Speedway for the 5th event of their season. With the Fall Brawl out of the way, drivers would return their focus to the points chase as they competed for 125 laps on the Connecticut half mile.

Time Trials started off the night, and it was Ty Majeski just barely beat out Ty Spearman by .001 seconds for the pole, which was Majeski’s league leading 49th career pole. The top 10 cars were then sent into the Qualifying Dash and a 7 car invert moved Majeski back to 7th, and Kevin J Myers was moved to the front. Myers brought the field to the green in the Dash, but it was Bill Martin that charged to the front for the Dash win and some extra bonus points.

In the feature event, Myers once again led the field to the green flag, and held onto the lead for the first 9 laps before Majeski had already made his way to the front. Majeski grabbed the top spot away on lap 10, just prior to the first caution. Once Majeski reached the front of the field, it was all over for everybody else as he continued to pull away throughout the race. The final restart came on lap 73, and over the final 50 laps of the race the lead extended out to nearly 4 seconds for Majeski as he went on to dominate the race and took the victory. The win for Majeski was his 47th career win.

Behind Majeski, it was Ty Spearman who finished 2nd, after he dropped back to 10th in the opening stages of the race before posting his charge to the front of the field. Casey Kelley started in 2nd but was shuffled back on the opening green flag, but was also able to work his way back to the front of the field to finish 3rd. Bill Martin was able to run inside the top five all race long, and ran as high as 2nd just prior to halfway, but would drop back a couple spots during the run to finish 4th. David Krikorian rounded out the top five after having to come from outside the top ten on two different occasions to finish 5th.

Just outside the top five, Myers would drop back after leading the opening laps, but would fight for that 5th spot for most of the race before settling into a 6th place finish. The Fall Brawl champion, Ryan Borges floated up and down throughout the top ten, running as low as 10th and as high as 5th before he ended up finishing in the 7th position. Hunter Combs started towards the front of the field from the invert, but would drop back to tae 8th. Jason Wiliams recovered from a early race spin to get back inside the top ten to finish 9th. Matt Rolfe also recovered from a couple spins and incidents, and was able to work his way back to round out the top ten in 10th.

With his 2nd place finish, Ty Spearman was able to gain enough points to take over the lead in the standings, and now leads by 8 points heading into the Week 6 race at Irwindale.
