This past Wednesday night, the Tour Modifieds invaded the HidesPride.com Southern Series for their turn at double features, with twin-80 lap features. Jordan Erickson grabbed the pole for race one, but missed the grid, allowing Trevor Edwards to move up to the front row, and Edwards went on to lead all 80 laps for his first win in the division and his 5th career SARA win. In Race 2 on the night, an 8-car invert brought Clay Snider to the front, but when he had to avoid some slow cars on lap 2, Erickson was right there to pounce and took over the lead, then held off Richie Davidowitz for the race win, Erickson’s first career SARA victory.
Trevor Edwards’ points lead extended out to over 100 points with others missing the race, but when drop races come into effect after next week’s races, we’ll see where everyone stands into the final week for the Southern Series.
