The Sprint Series ran it’s 9th race of the Summer Season on Tuesday night with a 40-lap feature event at the Volusia Speedway Park.

Race Winner – Points leader Kenneth Drake would benefit from the Pole Shuffle and started up at the front of the field, and lead the race early on through the halfway point of the race. On lap 28 however, Drake faced pressure from behind from AJ Bower, but the two would get together which led to Drake dropping out of the race with Bower going to the back. This handed the lead over to David Krikorian, who took full advantage and held off Dante Curtis in the closing laps, and Krikorian would pick up the victory which was his 2nd of the season and his 25th career SARA victory.

Heat Winners – Dave Bodio easily picked up the Heat 1 win, but the second heat was much closer as AJ Bower edged out Clay Snider by inches for the win in Heat 2.

Hard Charger – David Krikorian started 7th on the night, before moving up and taking the win, to gain 6 spots on the night.

Title Fight – With Kenneth Drake facing issues, and David Krikorian picking up the win, “DK” would inherit the points lead by just 8 points heading into the final week.

Up Next – Next week the series will run a double header at Eldora to crown the 2017 Summer Season champion.
