On Monday night, the Callaway Investments Sportsman Series made their second appearance at the Michigan International Speedway for a 50-lap race. The race provided plenty of action which included 11 different leaders and 18 different lead changes throughout the night.

Race Winner – After a couple of leader tangled on lap 37, Trevor Edwards slipped through and took over the lead. Edwards then maintained his track position, running in the outside lane which seemed to be the preferred groove all night while others made multiple attempts to get by on the inside. Edwards would hold on and went on to lead 12 of the final 13 laps to pick up the victory, which was his 2nd straight Michigan win, and his 10th career SARA victory.

Pole Award – Dave Bodio picked up his 3rd career pole with a lap of 49.792 seconds.

Hard Charger – Trevor Edwards started outside of the top ten from the 12th spot before moving up to take the win.

Rookie of the Race – Russell Charneski had an up-and-down night before moving up late and made one last attempt at the win but came up short in 2nd.

Title Fight – After the win, Trevor Edwards takes over the points lead by 14 points heading into next week’s race in the first league race at the new Myrtle Beach Speedway.
