The Sportsman Street Stock Series kicked off the second half of their season, by visiting the Langley Speedway for the first time ever in its 6th season of racing. Coming into the event, Clay Snider led David Fields at the top of the points standings by 22 points.

Matt Rolfe would make a quick lap on his qualifying run, picking up the pole over Snider. At the drop of the green, Rolfe would jump out to the lead as Snider would fall back into second.

A few spins off of Langley’s risk-vs-reward apron, would bring out the caution flag 5 times on the evening. But Rolfe would never be contested for the lead. That was not the story behind him however.

Snider and Fields would battle back and forth for the runner up position, exchanging the spot 5 times during the race. Snider would eventually hang on to the spot to see the checkers wave in 2nd.

But it would be Rolfe that would go on to lead flag-to-flag tonight at Langley. This would be the 6th time, out of 7 races, that the winner of the event would virtually lead all 75 laps en route to the victory. Snider would finish 2nd with Fields right behind him in third, with Mike Belanger and Scott Dunlap rounding out the top 5.

Snider would extend his point lead to 25 points over Fields, as the series heads back to Thompson for the second time this season.
