Rolfe Gets Redemption With Langley Victory

Last night, the Callaway Investments Sportsman Series ran a 100-lap feature event at the Langley Speedway for their 8th race of the season. Tim Bills started off the night with his 32nd career SARA pole before being inverted back into the field. At the drop of the green, it was Michael Baxter that started up front and led the first few laps before Matt Rolfe took over on lap 5. With some long green flag runs throughout the race, Rolfe felt some pressure from Trevor Edwards for a while, and then late in the race it was Tim Bills who posted a charge. In the closing laps, Bills peeked his nose under Rolfe but with the slick track conditions, he couldn’t get the runs off the corners that he needed. Rolfe would go on to pick up the victory, getting redemption from last season when he led that event late before coming up short on gas with a handful of laps to go. The win for Rolfe was his 2nd of the season and his 21st career SARA victory.

Trevor Edwards finished on the podium in 3rd, but his points lead shrunk down to just 5 points over Rolfe, but Edwards will lead the series into next week’s race at Gateway.

Pole Award – Tim Bills – 17.039 seconds
Hard Charger – 12th to 7th (+5) – Kyle Morse
Rookie of the Race – 7th Place – Kyle Morse
