Boiros Uses Patience To Get Back To Victory Lane

The UMP Modified Series made their second trip of the season to Eldora on Tuesday night for a 65 lap feature event.

Race Winner – Jarrid Boiros waited patiently until 10 laps to go to make his move into the lead for his 17th career SARA victory.

Race Summary – Joe Schaffer Jr. paced the field to the green flag after benefitting from the Pole Shuffle handicap, and enjoyed a sizable lead in the early stages of the race. But after a lap 17 caution, Schaffer had to deal with Jarrid Boiros over the final 45-lap green flag run to the finish. Boiros waited patiently through much of the run, looking for a way by multiple times before making the race winning move on lap 56 with a slider that put him in the lead and on his way to his first win since 2015.

Heat Winners – Much like the race, it was also Jarrid Boiros and Joe Schaffer Jr who were at the front of their respective Heat Races.

Hard Charger – Darrell Hamlin started in the 10th position, and finished the night gaining three spots to finish seventh.

UMP Rookie – While he’s not a SARA rookie by any means, Tim Bills was the highest UMP Modified rookie with a fourth place finish.

Title Fight – Another top five finish for David Krikorian sees his points lead extend out to 33 points with four races left on the schedule.

Up Next – The UMP Modifieds will head to Volusia for the first time this season next Tuesday night for 75 laps under the lights.
