Dirt Night – UMP Modifieds – Race 2 – May 28, 2018 – Knoxville Raceway

The UMP Modifieds took over Dirt Night on Monday for their second race of the season with a 65-lap A-Main from Knoxville.

Race Summary – Matt Rolfe took the lead away from Darrell Hamlin early in the race, but after that he spent much of the night trying to hold off David Krikorian. “DK” waited patiently for much of the race to make his move, before finally setting to the outside of Rolfe on lap 52, and swung by to take over the lead. Krikorian would escape a late call with lapped traffic, and went on to pick up his 33rd career SARA victory.

Race Winner – David Krikorian – Started 5th, 13 laps led

Top Five – 2nd Jarrid Boiros, 3rd Matt Rolfe, 4th Clay Snider, 5th Derek Robinson

Hard Charger – Derek Robinson (+4 Positions, 9th to 5th)

Heat Winners – Darrell Hamlin, Jarrid Boiros

Points Battle – Jarrid Boiros’ runner up finish moves him up to the top of the overall combined Dirt Night standings, by just one point over DK.

Up Next – Next week will be an off-week for Dirt Night, but the Midgets will return in two weeks at Limaland for 50 laps.
