Holzhausen Dominates At The Milwaukee Mile

Last Thursday night, The Button Box Shop Super Series made their seasonal trip to the Milwaukee Mile for a 100-lap feature event. The night got started with Derek Holzhausen scoring his 4th Dean’s Satellite & Security Pole Award of the season, before being inverted back to 6th for the start of the race.

When the green flag flew, it was Jordan Erickson who led the field to the start, and he would hang on for the opening 17 laps of the race, before Holzhausen charged his way to the lead on lap 18. After a restart on lap 24, a 55-lap green flag run broke out and Holzhausen pulled away out front as he attempted to run and hide. During the run, Josh Berry had other plans however as he began chasing down the leader, but was forced to make an early pit stop dropping him out of 2nd. A lap later, the caution would fly, and it allowed Holzhausen and the rest of the field to come down pit road for tires.

Holzhausen won the race off pit-road, and after a couple restarts and charges from Joe Schaffer Jr. and David Krikorian, Holzhausen would hold on to win the race at the checkered flag as well. Holzhausen led a total of 83 laps on his way to his first win of the season and his 2nd career SARA victory.

The points leader entering the night, Derek Robinson, had issues during his pit stop dropping him to a 17th place finish, which also dropped him to 3rd in points just 6 points behind the new leader. Richie Davidowitz took over the points lead by 3 points over Matt Rolfe and 6 points over Robinson.
